His words celebrated not simply that Eve was different from him, but that she was like him. She shared the same human nature. This helps us understand something important about the creation account. Genesis 1:27 says that God created humanity in his image: “Male and female he created them.” There is one humanity, even though humanity consists of men and women. We see a similar pattern when Scripture speaks about God.
